From 4S to 4S1H

I have spoken to the pupils who have opted for 4S1H when you were given 4S to take in 2015.

This is the latest information gathered. You may choose to buy or not to buy the Standard and the Higher Mother Tongue books until you are accepted in the Higher Mother Tongue Programme.

The results may be announced or known in 2015 itself before the commencement of the lessons.

PTM on 7 November 2014

Dear 4F,

P4 Meet Parents' Session will be on this coming Friday, 7th Nov. I have given out the timing to all pupils. Please indicate whether your parents will be attending the PTM by tomorrow, 4th Nov. 

There will be Queue numbers on the 7th of Nov. A first come, first served basis. Please take note that each conference will take about 5 to 10 minutes for per child's PTM.

14 to 17 October

Dear pupils, 

Please use these four days to revise all your subjects and work on especially your weak areas. 
In Week 6, the first paper will be English (24 October, Friday).

Homework for English:
Revise Unit 1 to 11 of Stellar learning sheets, past year papers (2012 & 2013) & vocabulary booklets 1 and 2.

Reading comprehension Booklet 2. To complete up to Worksheet 5.

Grammar Smart book:
It will be good to practise the following chapters as part of revision:
Chapter 16, verb forms
Chapter 18, verb agreement
Chapter 23, conjunctions 
Chapter 24, connectors 
Chapter 25, clause
Chapter 26, compound and complex sentences 
Chapter 28, punctuation 

Do take note that it is compulsory to do reading comprehension booklet 2 and please bring it back in Week 6. For grammar smart book, it will be fruitful for you to practise. Do come and ask me in Week 6 if you are unclear of the answers for the grammar smart book.

Children's Day celebration

The school will be having the Children's Day celebration tomorrow. As stated on the letter from our Principal, Mrs Pek, dated on 17 Sept 2014, you are encouraged to come to school in your home clothes. Remember no slippers are allowed.

P4 English Listening Comprehension and Paper 1 will be on the 8th of October, next Wednesday. 

I have returned your Listening Comprehension Book and today I have returned your last practice paper for Listening Comprehension.

I will be returning the rest of your composition writings by this week so that you can revise over the long weekends.

ECAW- Every Child A Writer

Dear 4F,

It is the time of the year. In Term 1, I have mentioned that each one of you have to submit a piece of your best writing. Only 4 pupils have submitted.

Do type it out and email to <noraini_amin@moe.edu.sg>. Else, you can pass me your thumb drive where I can save it.

For those who do not have a computer, write on a piece of paper and hand in to me. You may select from one of your composition topics. You do not need to do a new topic.

Submission deadline: 1 Oct 2014, Wednesday

All the best for your SA2 Oral on Monday. 
As taught in class, do remember the acronyms ECP.

For Reading:
E= Read with Expression
C= Be Clear
P= Pronunciation

For Stimulus-Based Conversation:
E= Be Engaged with the examiner
C= Clarity
P= Give Personal Responses (use your imagination, be creative)

For extra practise on Stimulus-Based pictures, you may want to look out for notices at the void deck and have a conversation with your parents or siblings on what it is all about.

Who is/ are the target audience? What is the aim the picture shown? The 'why' question (give reasons for all your answers). How can the topic given benefit or harm you or others?

You may bring along the Listening Comprehension Book 4 if you think you want to revise more during the waiting time (2.15 p.m. to 4.30p.m.).

Dictation on Week 7

Please take note that we will be having our last class dictation for the term on Wednesday, 13 August.

On the 8th of August....

We will be having our EDP National Day Observance Ceremony tomorrow. Do remember to be in your red and white attire. Things to bring:
- pupils handbook
- a storybook 
- stationaries (writing materials)
- water bottle
Put all the items above into a small bag. Your song sheet for the National Day songs should be in your wallet or purse. Let's celebrate Singapore's 49th birthday!

Our Rainbow Day performance

Dearest pupils, 

You are encouraged to put on your traditional costume tomorrow. For the performers these are the attire you should be wearing:
1. Chinese dance performers (costumes will be provided)

2. Malay dance performers (costumes will be provided)

3. Indian dance performers (Your own T- shirt and a pair of jeans)

4. Guitar performers (your own clothing)

5. Wushu performers (track pants/ any stretchable pants + EDP PE T-shirt)

6. Narrator (your own clothing)

8. Kyla (kebaya will be provided)

Welcome Back!

Dear Pupils,

Term 3 is here. I hope all of you have enjoyed your restful June break.

Some matters to take note for this week:

1) Temperature taking on Thursday, 3 July.

Do ensure that your thermometer is in good working condition (that is you are able to switch on and
switch it off).

2) Do submit your donation cards once you are ready. In case you have misplaced or lost it, do approach me immediately.

3) There are still pupils who have not submitted your report books. Please do so by Wednesday, 2 July.

Report Book

Dear Pupils,

You should have received your results in your report book today. Do look at what or how else you can improve during the June break.

Please get your parents to sign on your results slip and your parents could return to me tomorrow during the Parent-Teacher's Meeting (PTM). For those pupils whose parents have indicated that they will not be able to attend the PTM session, you may return the report book after the school holidays in Term 3.

Do grab the opportunity during the June break to catch up on your revision too. Have a good break, take care and be good!

June Holiday Assignment

Dear Pupils,

Please complete 4 book reviews only.

Do the reviews on full-scap papers and include the following:

- Title of Book
- Author of Book
- Summary of the book: What is the story all about? Do include the 5Ws and 1H. You do not have to include all the 5Ws though.

Also, please remember to declare online (mconline) if you have decided to travel overseas during the holidays. The due date was Wednesday, 28 May.
